With its 460cc-sized club head and deep center of gravity, the TaylorMade Men’s Burner 460Ti has to be considered one of the best drivers on the market today. The super light shaft produces a much faster swing speed for the golfer, which allows for greater distance off the tee as well as straighter shots down the middle of the fairway.

The stock Burner comes with lofts of either 9.5, 10.5, or 13 degrees. The 13-degree Burner would be for a senior who is having trouble getting the ball in the air. However, that should not be a problem with this particular club, as the standard shaft is the 50-gram TM RE*AX shaft which gives golfers a higher ball trajectory off the tee. This results in longer, straighter shots for golfers of all ability levels.

The face, body, and crown of the Burner’s club head is all made of titanium, and the face comes 1-degree closed. By shipping the driver with a closed face, this alleviates the problem that many amateurs have related to hitting a natural fade. Fades will ultimately cut down on the distance the golfer is able to recognize off the tee box. The TaylorMade Burner 460 is able to harness that fade and return a high, long ball flight that is sure to give you 20-30 extra yards.

It is the club’s customization features, however, that truly set it apart from any other club in its class. Wilson Pro Staff 360 Spec Review

Shaft made of graphite and steel mix. Making for a very light yet sturdy club when the ball makes contact.
Comes with a crap ton of clubs – 1 Driver, 2 Fairway Woods (3,5), Hybrid (17″ and 21″ loft replace traditional #3 and #4 iron), Irons (5,6,7,8,9,Pitching Wedge).
The driver has a ridiculous sweet spot. This was the only club I tested. I was truly surprised the amount of energy transfer from the club to the ball.

Only one con about this golf set The one thing that sold me off from this set is that it does not come with a putter. I ended up buying a more expensive set($200 more) just because it came with a putter while the Pro Staff 360. While this set is an extremely good value, if you do not have a putter either consider buying a different golf set, or buy a putter separately. Tips to improve your golf swing: Learn to swing like a pro

If you’ve ever spent any time on a golf course’s driving range, then you know all about the frustration that can go along with trying to fix your swing. If you’re going to learn to swing like a pro, then you need to know a few very simple and implementable tips. These things aren’t complicated, and more times than not, your swing problems are just a combination of little things.

Stop coming over the ball
One of the biggest problems for players is that they swing from the outside in. This causes you to come over the ball, which produces the nasty slice that has become a characteristic of bad golfers. In order to fix this, you need to swing from an inside route towards the ball. Swinging out at the ball is what this is called in golf circles, and in order to improve this, you should practice trying to hit the inside of the golf ball.

Working on your tempo
When most people screw up on their golf swing, they are trying to do things too quickly. They have no tempo and they often end up with wacky mechanics because of it. This can be caused by trying to swing too hard to simply getting nervous during the swing. Fixing this is all about making a commitment to adjusting the tempo. Start by taking the club away from the ball slowly, and tell yourself to swing smoothly. This type of smooth, fluid swing will usually be slower and it will help you keep everything in line during your swing.

In most cases, the things causing you to hit the ball all over the place are little kinks in your swing. They can be worked out, but only if you take the time to hit the range and really work on them. Swinging like a pro is about consistency and making the same motion each and every time. This is what most people struggle with, and it’s what you should concentrate on improving.

GolfLogix GPS Review: Garmin made your new best friend!

If you are a serious golfer and haven’t been using any kind of golf GPS devices, all I can say is you don’t know what you are missing out on. Garmin’s GolfLogic GPS (2008 model) has saved me so much time that it’s not even funny. Not only that, but I’m sure it has shaved a point or two off my end game score as well. The only thing I have found hard about this golf course GPS unit is that it’s hard to trust the distances that it tells you, even though it is right 100% of the time.

Out of all the GPS units related to golf, I think that the golf logix by Garmin is by far the best of them. I have seen mostly good reviews everywhere I have checked for this device. Also, a lot of people on amazon really like the 2008 model especially.

The GolfLogix basically does all the calculations and guess work for you, which is why I like it the best. It’s almost like how you could never do a math problem without a calculate to me now. It really is a handy device and I can’t imagine going back to the old way of doing it. It kind of spoiled me really lol.

Todays post is about the best golf club sets for kids. My brothers son was very interested in golf and always would ask me if he could hit some balls with my clubs. One tip before you hand this set of to your kid

Teach him/her to swing before you hand these off. Kids tend to like to swing things like golf clubs very wildly so its important that they know that these clubs can hurt/damage things. My brother told me the first day his son had these clubs he managed to break one lamp and one drinking glass.

All in all, the Intech Lancer Junior set is great for kids aged 3-12. This golf club set can also be purchased in different sizes to fit different sized/aged children. I also recommend that you spend no more than $90-$100 on your child’s junior golf set as they outgrow these things very fast. You can only expect them to be able to use them for a year or two max before they completely outgrow it.

One of my favorite golf course accessories is the Bushnell Yardage 1500 Laser Rangefinder. While this unit is a little bit more expensive than competitive Laser Rangefinders, this one definitely outperforms all of them hands down.

If you golf all the time, this rangefinder is a perfect tool that will save you time and helps you calculate hole distances with slope calculated into the equation. Most rangefinders lack this feature which is why I like the Bushnell Yardage Pinseeker 1500 over the others. This really comes in handy for picking the right club for the shot.

Cleveland Golf CG14 Black Pearl Wedge Review: A perfect sand wedge.

When just starting out golfing you won’t really be using your sand wedges that often – most beginner courses don’t have sand pits. However, once you start getting into more advanced courses you eventually will need to whip our the gold old sand wedge from time to time. When I am in dire situations, my current favorite wedge – Cleveland Golf’s CG14 black pearl wedge is where I put my trust.

The technology behind this club – they call it ‘Zip Grooves’ makes it really easy to control the ball even when there is a bunch of debris in the way. The deep groves channel the dirt and sand outwards so that your club face always has maximum surface contact area for better ball control and spin.

Over the years, I have finally realized that I am a sucker for a good looking golf club. I guess this is why they make them look so cool to sucker in people like me. The black look to the CG12 and CG14 stood out to me from the rest of the equivalent wedges which is probably the reason why I bought it in the first place. Luckily it turned out to be an awesome wedge so I am totally satisfied. They do have two models of this club but I am not exactly sure what the differences are between the CG12 and CG14 besides for a slight change in look.

Top Flite XL Golf Club Set Review: Great for beginners!

Today I would like to review one of my favorite beginner golf club sets that I am currently recommending to all no comers to the sport. Top Flite specializes in making golf balls but they do have their own line of golf clubs. The set that I am reviewing today, is the Top Flite XL golf club set. Top Flight just recently released this set and buyers are already raving about this set.

Let’s start off with some technical specs of the set:

460cc forged driver with graphite shaft for improved weight reduction and accuracy
4H and 5H hybrids with steel shafts
6-PW stainless steel irons with deep cut back for better feel and ball control
Comes with a mallet putter with alignment stripes.
Also comes with a nice durable club stand bag.

The reason why I like these clubs so much is because they are a great getting started set to practice with. Because they are relatively cheap, you do not have to worry about ruining your clubs. Even though they are cheap, even a more experienced golfer would do just fine with these clubs because of the quality and technology behind them. If I would have to compare these clubs to even the more expensive sets, this is your average but good quality golf set.

First driver I bought: Callaway FT-i Tour Driver. My review.

Thanks for checking my site out today. I would like to share my experiences with my Callaway FTi driver. This was one of the very first drivers I bought when I was first getting into the golf hobby. Since then, I have bought dozens of clubs and have gotten much much better.

What got me to buy this driver was its funny shape. It was also fairly cheap at the time so I said what the heck I might as well buy it. I actually liked this club a lot even though it looks ridiculous. I don’t know the scientific stuff behind the design but all I know is that for $200, my Callaway FT-I Tour driver really held its own even with the more expensive drivers I bought later on.

Callaway FT-I Tour Driver Technical Review

Large Titanium Cup Face increases driving distance, control, and ball speed.
Weight positioned towards the hitting corner of the club creating a high moment of inertia.
Slightly angled club face.
Carbon composite body – lighter than titanium.

All in all, I was completely pleased with with Callaway FT-I Tour Driver. I used it for a number of years and I think that it stands pretty well amongst the more expensive drivers out there. Out of all the reviews I have made on my clubs, this one definitely wins the highest value award. While I don’t use this driver anymore, I would definitely have no problem using it again if my main drivers ever break.
